Maintenance

There are a number of legal and guidance documents that identify the need for doors and shutters to be maintained to ensure continued safety in use.

The main ones are:

  • The Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992
  • The Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 1992
  • The Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations 1997
  • The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998
  • Building Regulations, ADB 2000- Fire and ADBK 1998
  • LPS1197, the BRE standard for repair and maintenance of doors and shutters to which organisations can be certified.
  • BSEN 12635, installation and safe use of industrial, commercial and garage doors.

Failure to have your doors regularly maintained may result in heavy fines and even custodial sentences of up to two years.

Anglia Door Systems can provide your business with a low cost, high quality service agreement where a fully trained engineer visits site at regular intervals during the year and carrys out a full service to all your industrial and commercial doors.

It's not just a quick check over and a squirt of oil. All major components are checked over. Any minor adjustments that can be safely and effectively made whilst the engineer is on site will be carried out. Each site's doors are labelled up and a matrix drawn up so that you are control of your doors maintenance schedule and history. Please call or e mail for more information.
